This updated Manual is a comprehensive handbook on employment law applicable in the workplace. It describes in detail the current employment legislation including the Employment Act 1955, the Minimum Retirement Age Act 2012, the Employment Insurance System Act 2017, the Industrial Relations Act 1967 and the Trade Unions Act 1959, as well as all other laws relating to employment, some of which have been updated in the last few years. With the description of each employment law, examples from case law are provided to illustrate the points and examples of best practice which are recommended to human resource practitioners and any person advising these practitioners. Each topic is intensively discussed by the author. The Manual also introduces some of the amendments made to the Industrial Relations Act in late 2019 which have yet to be implemented.
