About The Author

Dr. A. Vijayalakshmi Venugopal serves as the Deputy Director of the Impact Lab on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions and is the Programme Director for the Doctor of Philosophy in Law at the School of Law and Governance, Taylor’s University, Malaysia. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from the National University of Malaysia and a Masters in Law and Educational Psychology from the University of Malaya. With over 20 years of experience in teaching law, she has authored numerous books and articles, focusing particularly on contempt of court and intellectual property law.

Her extensive career includes roles as a Senior Lecturer at Taylor’s Law School, where she teaches courses such as Intellectual Property Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Equity & Trusts. She has also served as an internal examiner for LLM dissertations, faculty advisor for the Lexicon legal journal, and editor-in-chief of the CRELDA journal. Additionally, she has been involved in various committees and conferences, contributing to the development and accreditation of law programmes and representing the faculty in environmental, health, and safety initiatives.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi has supervised and examined multiple postgraduate dissertations, as well as delivered talks on research and writing skills. She has also served as a guest lecturer internationally and as a reviewer for various journals. Her commitment to legal education and research is reflected in her active participation in seminars and conferences, as well as her numerous publications on legal topics.
