PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION
Personally identifying information is generally available to us only if you
supply it voluntarily through our Web site or in connection with purchase
of a subscription. For instance, in setting up your Member Account, we collect
certain types of personal information such as your name, credit card number
for Member Accounts, and e-mail address. We also collect corporate information such as firm name, phone number, fax number, company address, and number
of potential users, related to the particular authorized user for billing
and reporting purposes for the corporate account holder. Other information
that identifies you personally may be collected by us through comments, inquiries
or suggestions submitted through our site. We do not collect any additional
information from third parties except Judgments from the Courts which may
contain information on you if you have been involved in a particular legal
matter that has been sent to us. As part of our normal business, and for
no other reason, we may publish such a judgment. All collection of credit card information
- where the payment is real time - is done using a third party vendor.
The third party uses industry standard
SSL
(Secure Socket Layer) encrypted servers. SSL codes the information transferred
between you and the server, rendering it unreadable to anyone trying to intercept
the information.

You are not required to provide any personal information to search our
databases. However, you are required to establish an account which provides a
username and password in order to fully access certain materials in our
databases. You can change your password at any time but not your username.
Any password you choose may be accessed by CLJ Law staff but no-one
else. Any personal information that you share with CLJ Law
will be used for limited internal purposes, including processing your
transactions, customer service, marketing, development, content processing,
content classification and providing you with information regarding our

newsletter, you can need to subscribe to this separately - there is no fee for
this. Details on subscribing to the Bulletin are available on the front
page of the CLJ Law site. With Member Accounts, we do not share your
name, e-mail address, credit card numbers, mailing address, purchasing history
or any other personal identifying information that is collected from this Site
with any third parties, except as necessary to process your transactions.

do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is reasonably
necessary to comply with legal process, respond to claims, or to protect the
rights, property or safety of our company, our employees, customers, or the
public. If we did so disclose the information we would, if allowed by
law, inform you of such a dislosure.

recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. CLJ Law
will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an
unsolicited email. You should not disclose your user name and password to
others. In addition, if applicable, you should remember to sign out
of your CLJ Law account or service at the
end of each session. You may also wish to close your browser window when you
have finished your work. A final precaution would be to clear the browser
cache after the session. The cache stores files that you have accessed
and maybe allow another to view your legal research or personal information
and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a
computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe.

from our online products or services. You transmit all such information at
your own risk. However, once we receive your transmission, we make our best

COOKIES
We may make use of "cookies" on our Site.
Cookies are small text files that
are stored on a user's computer by the Web server through a user's browser. A
cookie itself is not designed or intended to read any information from your
computer (other than the contents of the cookie); rather, it is an identifier
used by the Web site that originally placed it on your hard drive. The actual
contents of the cookie information can be retrieved by the same server to
identify the computer and subsequently to customize, monitor, or regulate the
use of the site based on information stored in the cookie or host server.
Therefore, cookies allow us to automate access and data entry functions of our
Site such as login information, correlate online ordering information for
purchases you may make while at the Site (if any), tailor the Site to your
preferences or interests, or customize promotions or marketing. In addition,
cookies allow us to track usage of the Site to determine those areas of the
Site which are useful or popular and those that are not thereby enabling us to
improve and update the Site effectively.
|
|
You may adjust your Web browsers to either alert you of the use of cookies
or refuse to accept cookies entirely. For Internet Explorer, you can click on
the "Start" button and then select Control Panel, Internet Options and the
Security tab. If you click on the "Custom" button, you will be able to see the
cookie options. For Netscape users, in the browser, select File, Preferences
and then Advanced to view the cookie options. Be aware that if you elect
not to accept cookies, some parts of the Site may not function properly or
permit access.

ADVERTISING SERVICES AND PROFILING
CLJ Legal Network does not carry advertisements but in the event that we do
in the future we will not supply and will not permit advertising
services on our Site to directly collect any personally identifying
information; however, in some cases, IP address information may be referred to
an advertising service servicing ads on our Site.
|
|
|
You also should be aware that an advertising service may have the ability
to correlate otherwise anonymous cookie information that it collects from our
Site (or co-branded sites) to you if you have
previously provided personally identifying information to (a) the advertising
service directly or (b) a site which shares such information with the same
advertising service. In any case you should refer to the advertising
service's privacy policy.
